I started a new job. One of my first ones post-grad. I hate it. I hate it so much. What do I do?
Get the experience and then leave and find something you want to do
dude… same. i took my first post-grad job thinking it’d feel like some big milestone, but it felt like hell.
honestly? if you hate it, that’s not weird, most first jobs kinda suck. it’s like corporate hazing no one tells you about. Just figure out whyit sucks the work, the people, the culture, or just being employed
You keep on doing it until you don’t have to anymore
I found a job with a company who believes in thier people and thier culture. makes a world of difference.
It depends on a lot of things. Can you afford to take the hit financially or do you need to wait till you have something lined up? Is it endangering your mental/physical well-being?
For example, I worked at an agency as a junior designer for 6 months but didn’t have anything lined up. However I also was hardly sleeping, couldn’t function, and got told I needed to put in more time. Even though I didn’t have a backup I still took that risk because I physically couldn’t do it anymore. It might be rough for a while if you do quit with no backup but it could work out just fine.
I need this
No, I don’t have enough money set aside.
Then I would get the experience while also looking for better options. Save up whatever money you can. Don’t go for the first job out of there because you’ll be unhappy there too, find what you’re looking for and set realistic expectations. The next job might not have everything but it could be better and that’s all you need for right now.
You save 6 months of living expenses. While you do that you apply to jobs. Then you leave once you find a new one or have that much money saved.
it’s jsut hard to find something like that in the job market now
